– Before you pack your bags and head to warmer and sunnier climates, popping over to Above and Beyond Your Expectations can help you with all those last-minute necessities.
From manicures and pedicures, to waxing eyelash and eyebrow tinting, to tanning and a huge selection of bathing suits and accessories – Above and Beyond has travellers covered.
“We sold a ton of bathing suits this summer because of the heat – everyone wanted a bathing suit. People who had never put a bathing suit on will come in and say, ‘I hear that you can outfit me in something that will look good on me,’“ said owner Toni Walker.
With more than 1,500 bathing suits from Size 6 through to 26, Walker says she has something that will fit any size.
“We don’t let you leave the store unless we know you’re looking your best. We’re very honest,” she said.
Walker has owned the James Street business for 11 years after working at the store part-time and then purchasing it from owner Linda Hickey (under the former name Tone and Trim).
Walker said she had an esthetics business in the late 1990s called Total Look Esthetics.
Over the years, Walker said she’s had phenomenal staff and currently employs one full time and three part-time staff.
“We do lots of fashion shows and are involved in the community through the Santa Claus Parade and Barb Kerr’s events,” she said.
In addition to bathing suits, the store also features Canadian-made clothing and dresses for any occasion along with a new addition .

“People come in if they want a dress that they know they’re not going to see 15 other people wearing and they’re affordable,” she said. “We want you leaving there looking and feeling your absolute best!” she said.
